You trespass on holy ground!” the Princess proclaimed as she drew her Sword and pointed it at the Pokémon “leave or face justice!”.In response the Gardevoir turned, eyeing Zelda for a moment before slowly raising its hand in what at first seemed to be surrender or a gesture that violence isn't needed before the Psychic Types body then glowed a light pink, uttering its name softly before Zelda glowed the same pink hue the Pokémon was, the Princess then being lifted from the ground and thrown across the Grove in a Confusion attack.Rebounding off of a tree behind her Zelda was quick to land back on her feet and use Nayru’s Love to create a Magical Shield around her to block a Psybeam attack from the Gardevoir “so you have chosen death, I will do what I must to protect the Master Sword” the Princess stated before using Farore’s Wind again to teleport out of sight dodging another Psybeam in the process.Appearing behind the Pokémon to strike it in the back with a thrust of her Sword, the metal of it acting upon the Psychic/Fairy’s Steel Type weakness doubling what damage it would have taken normally as Zelda struck it multiple times, making the Gardevoir recoil repeatedly before it managed to use Protect, raising an unbreakable green Shield to repel Zelda’s final thrust.Lowering the Protect as Zelda rebounded off of it the Gardevoir then utilised Dazzling Gleam, its eyes glowing a bright pink as it unleashed a bright flash of energy from them, the attack knocking Zelda off balance and temporarily blinding her from the sheer bright flash of it leaving her open to a Psychic attack, the Pokémon throwing its arms forward to cast the Princess away with a blast of sheer mental power. As Zelda was sent flying across the Grove the Gardevoir then used Recover to heal its wounds, the Psychic/Fairy then flinching as an Arrow shot by it narrowly grazing and cutting its cheek.Having decided that close quarters combat wasn’t the best option to face the Gardevoir Zelda had swapped to her Light Bow, firing Light Arrows in a volley towards the Pokémon before pulling out her Sheikah Slate, utilising its Bomb option to summon several large Explosives in the air before raining them down upon the Gardevoir.Getting struck by the first two explosions the Gardevoir managed to block the last three with another Protect, still standing strong in the smouldering remains as the Pokémon then used Moonblast, summoning the image of a full moon above it before firing a beam of Fairy Type energy at Zelda from it.As the beam came down towards her Zelda cast Nayru’s Love once more, shielding her from the Fairy Type attack before dispelling it and casting Din’s Fire, sending a stream of Flame towards the Pokémon which used Protect once again to shield itself. As the Psychic Type shielded itself again Zelda kept up her attack with Din’s Fire, the Princess starting to strain as her overuse of Magic was beginning to tax her body greatly but thankfully it paid off as the Gardevoir was forced to use Protect over and over until it finally failed forcing it to take the full brunt of Din’s Fire.As the Pokémon was engulfed in the Flames Zelda redrew her Light Bow and notched a Light Arrow, aiming to pierce her opponents heart with one fell shot to end both the fight and its pain swiftly but as she took aim a blinding light erupted from the Flames as the Gardevoir was now encased in a large glowing Orb which swiftly shattered revealing that the Psychic/Fairy had taken a more regal form in its Mega form.Following suit in changing her appearance Zelda spun on her heels using Magic to change her royal dress to a skin tight Shinobi uniform as she took her Sheik persona, the Princess then leaping high into the air and drawing multiple Kunai to hurl at the Pokémon. In response the now Mega Gardevoir blocked the Kunai with a Barrier before its eyes glowed pink again, taking hold of Zelda/Sheik with a mental hold of a Psychic attack to which it used to throw the Princess around the Grove, slamming her into the trees and ground repeatedly before then pulling her towards it, placing its hands on her face as it then began to pull her in for a Draining Kiss.Gritting her teeth as her Sheik disguise faded away back to her royal dress Zelda fought to redraw her Sword, the Pokémon drawing her closer and closer by the second until she was finally able to draw her Weapon and slash across the Gardevoir’s midsection, forcing it back as it let out a cry of pain and hurled Zelda back with another Psychic attack. As its white ‘dress’ was stained with its blood the Gardevoir resorted to its last ditch attempt of self defence, cupping its hands in front of it the Psychic/Fairy channelled all of its power to create a miniature Black Hole which promptly started to slowly pull everything in the Grove towards it.Feeling herself being pulled towards the Black Hole Zelda pulled out her Sheikah Slate to activate its Stasis function, several golden Chains appearing from thin air to latch around the Gardevoir momentarily freezing it in time. With the Gardevoir frozen in time Zelda redrew her Light Bow and notched another Arrow, taking aim at the Pokémon’s head before letting the Arrow loose to score the Gardevoir clean between the eyes just as the Statis ran out, causing the Pokémon to immediately lose control of the Black Hole as it was struck in the head crying out in pain as it started to get pulled into its own Black Hole which began to grow larger and larger without the Gardevoir to control it.As the Black Hole began to grow further Zelda used the last of her energy to cast Nayru’s Love again but this time not on herself but the Black Hole, encasing it in a Magical Shield to contain its pull, gritting her teeth in strain as she did so to maintain focus until the Black Hole finally dissipated from the Gardevoir being fully pulled in and crushed inside of it leaving nothing behind. With the Pokémon dealt with Zelda collapsed to her knees, the Grove around her utterly destroyed but with a passing glance she smiled as she found the Master Sword still standing strong in its pedestal, the Princess then passing out from fatigue content that the Sword was still safe.Winner: Princess ZeldaNow this a battle that has long been on the back burner and I’m happy to finally have been able to write it.So, why does Zelda beat Gardevoir?Well to me the battle would be extremely close as Zelda’s Magical power and Gardevoir’s sheer Psychic might would be fairly equal in my opinion and it would boil down to Zelda’s more versatile Spell range allowing her to do more than just damage her opponent compared to Gardevoir’s damage heavy Movepool. What would truly tip the fight in her favour would be Zelda’s Weaponry as the metal of her Royal Sword could play on Gardevoir’s Steel Type weakness and the fact that her Light Bow can harm beings like Ganondorf who in turn is far above the likes of Gardevoir granting the Princess the victory.
